About: This training is being organized by SEA circular with the collaboration of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Ocean Recovery Alliance (ORA), Circular Economy Club Penang, Penang Green Council, Penang 2030 unit, Penang State Government and the Ministry of Environment and Water.
The objectives of the training with Malaysian municipalities and city councils are to grow Champions in each State in Malaysia to be able to do three things:
- Measure and Assess: Understand the baseline of your current plastic use, recovery, recycling and use of
recycled content, so your municipality/city council is better equipped to make important and
significant gains on plastic pollution reduction, resource recovery and reuse of materials. - Engage Stakeholders: Use the results to gain the knowledge and capacity on how best to
engage your employees, partners, procurement teams, solid waste and public cleansing
departments etc. - Go Circular: Once a baseline analysis is completed, it becomes possible to manage the knowledge of what resources you have available for “circulation”, to promote a more circular economy and efficiently re-use and recover materials
